Aleksandrija Macedonian Folk Dance Ensemble

 

 

Founded in December 2007, and associated with Saint Nikola Macedonian Orthodox Church in Totowa, New Jersey, the Aleksandrija Macedonian Folk Dance Ensemble strives to unite young Macedonians in preservation and    promotion of Macedonia’s rich cultural folkloric heritage and traditions. Through its diverse performances, Aleksandrija brings all facets of Macedonian cultural life on stage and allows audiences a rare opportunity to experience  the Macedonian nation as interpreted through Macedonian dances and songs.

 

 

Aleksandrija has 40 performers dived into two groups of teenagers/young adults, and children. Aleksandrija has performed throughout the United States, including at the 27th Anniversary of the Saints Kiril and Metodij  Macedonian Orthodox Church Gala in Illinois in 2008, the 1st Annual UMD Global Conference in 2009, and the Annual Turkish Festival before tens of thousands of viewers in 2009.
